Recruitment

We would love to meet you!

I first discovered MIT Panhel during my Campus Preview Weekend in April 2022. Anxiously waiting for my host at the Stud, I wondered how I would find my place in such a large and diverse campus community. But when my host, a member of Alpha Phi, welcomed me in, I quickly realized that MIT, the Panhellenic community, and, specifically, Alpha Phi were where I belonged. In just 3.14 days, I found not only friendship but also a sense of home.

Everyone's path to Panhel is different. Some of my sisters were set on going through all four days of recruitment, while others weren't sure if they wanted to join a sorority at all. But regardless of how we arrived, we all ended up in the same place—a community where we find comfort and support, but also endless opportunities to grow. This is Panhel. This is Alpha Phi

Since joining, I've embarked on journeys I never would have had the courage to pursue without my sisters. From spending a month volunteering on a goat farm with my grandbig Erin to a summer in London with my twin, Angelica, these experiences have shaped me in ways I never expected. But it's not just the big adventures that define this community—it's the small moments that remind me how deeply we care for one another. A sister making me dinner while I scrambled to finish an assignment. Another staying up way past her bedtime to help me prep for a job interview. My roommate, Simdi, showing up with a scone, a Earl Grey latte, and a hug when I needed it most. This is Panhel. This is Alpha Phi.

I know recruitment can feel daunting—I had never considered it myself before that one fateful weekend. But looking back, joining Greek life was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Alpha Phi and the Panhellenic community have shaped my life in ways I never could have imagined, offering friendships, support, and opportunities that extend far beyond my time at MIT. And if you give it a chance, it just might do the same for you.

AOE,
